Installer User Interface Mode Not Supported

Got two reader mails this week from people who got this error when trying to install Zend Studio (they wanted to use the voucher in the Kompendium and to try before they buy):

After some mails back and forth, I believe now that this is a bug in ZeroG's InstallAnywhere. This error message appears when the Windows user name contains "strange" characters like ! or #. So a simple workaround is as follows:

Create a new user ("temp").
Login as this user and install the software; be sure to choose "For all users".
Relogin as the user with the strange characters and user the software.

Then, the "temp" user can be deleted; however in order to uninstall the software, you will have to recreate the user again.

What you mean by create a new user?

I need to install FM08 but that problem comes

you need to create a new Windows user account and install the software from there.

I use installanywhere 7.1 version. I add sqlserver2005 jdbc jar(sqljdbc.jar) to my installanywhere project, and build a exe file. when I execute this file, it shows the same error picture. I don't know why. Would you like to help me?

I am also facing the same problem as Keven. The moment I add the sql server driver to the exe file and run i get the same error. Have you been able to find a solution to this?

in my case removing special chars from the user name did the trick. Otherwise you may want to contact InstallAnywhere support, since this seems to be a common problem.

I cannot install Football Manager 2008, this problem comes up. What should I do?
My user name used to be 'Sonny!' but i changed it too 'Sonny' .. it still doesn't work.

Another cause of this is the path of installer, shorten it to C:\tempx or something.

hey im in the same boat as most of these guys. Have gt fm 10 really really wanna play. ive changed my name from MIKE!! to Denilson and that didnt work then i tried making another profile that didnt work. plz plz help
