Monday, March 6. 2006Announcing Atlas (Rough Cuts) I had to keep this a secret for quite some time, but today the prerelease (Rough Cuts) version of my new book on Atlas, to be published by O'Reilly has been put online. You can browse through the (unedited) first eight chapters, with more soon to come. You can also buy full access via Safari and get a special discount on the printed version, to be published in June 2006. O'Reilly also has more information on Rough Cuts. Update: Scott Guthrie mentions the book in his weblog. The missing content, by the way, is already done but has not been made available be O'Reilly yet. I've been told it will appear soon, though. Update: The full book is now up.

Just bought your book...it looks awesome! The update you are talking about - will it be available ...i can hardly resist keeping off the book - but something tells me i should wait for the update.
Thanks for your kind words! The remaining chapters will probably go live next week. Once Microsoft releases the next CTP, we will update the online content as soon as possible. The print version of the book will come out once there is a go-live license for Atlas.
I bought the book last week,I like it everything looks ok one thing which keeps bothering me though after I heard that Microsoft had changed the Name space Web.UI to Sys.UI,so if I start developing application with atlas and microsoft changes namespaces and some weird staff,it will break my application.
so what do you guys suggest on using atlas framework for applications which will go live the coming June?
tough question. The March CTP came with a Go-Live license, which usually means that things will not change too much in subsequent releases. On the other hand, you never know.

Sam, yes, we are currently working hard on an update regarding changes in the MIX build (and in this week's April CTP); the next step will be to cover all the new stuff that has been added.

I have registered the book on Safari Does the code work with latest relase of Atlas - I can not get the first example in the book to work (Hello User) in VS2005 PRO
a version updated for the April CTP is scheduled to be put online this week; I will announce it on my blog once it's done. I hope to be able to put the source code online rather soon, too.
