Zend Studio 5.2

Obviously, Zend Studio 5.2 has been released. Here are all the new features mentioned in the release notes, apart from bugfixes:

- Integrated installation of Zend Platform and full compatibility with it.

PHP Language:

- Updating PHP elements code completion according to the latest changes in PHP.

Still, an upgrade from Zend Studio 5.1 costs 249$, so I will most probably let this version pass ...

This is an exerpt from the email I recieved from Zend inviting me to download the new version:

Zend Studio 5.2 now includes the following enhancements:

• Increased developer productivity and improved application performance
• Develop your PHP applications faster; identify, test and resolve performance issues from within your development environment
• Once deployed, optimized and stable PHP applications stay in production reducing downtime, troubleshooting and development cycles

Those are some pretty amazing enhancements for a 0.1 upgrade - well worth the $249 upgrade fee

Students can download it for free if they have a valid licence (like I am :>). So as a student I really recommend you to upgrade especially since SVN Integration works much better now.

I believe the upgrade is free, so long as your year-long upgrade subscription hasn't expired. Here's the email I got:

"Zend is pleased to announce the release of Zend Studio 5.2 - now including a free developer license for Zend Platform allowing you to increase the reliability and maximize the performance of your application before deployment.

As a Zend Studio Professional customer with a valid upgrade subscription, you get the Upgrade for free."

I'm not sure this release justified a 0.1 version change, though.
