Some people knew this already, but now I can finally make it public: My new book,
Essential Silverlight, has been
published by O'Reilly. It is currently available as a PDF, a printed version (using print on demand) will follow soon.
This is the first version of what promises to be an exciting ride. The current (and first) edition focusses on Silverlight 1.0. Subsequent updates will concentrate on Silverlight 1.1. We will update the PDF whenever a new major Silverlight update is released. Once Silverlight 1.1 is final, the book will be finalized, as well, and will be "regularly" published as a printed book. If you buy the PDF now, you will get all subsequent book versions until the final version is out.
The book itself is a concise introduction to Silverlight, showing concepts and the most important features, to get you started quickly. The book was developed and tested on all supported Silverlight platforms, including Internet Explorer and Firefox on Windows, and Firefox and Safari on Mac OS X.
More information on the book and its contents, including the TOC and other sneak peeks, can be found on
O'Reilly's book site.
